This old folk song gained tremendous popularity after it was featured in tv show La casa de papel, but did you know it’s been a symbol for resistance through the years? From its origin in the late nineteenth century among women working Italy’s rice paddy fields and singing about their bad life conditions to the Second world when it became an anti-facist anthem. \n\nSo for oppressed people, grab your instrument!
