If you play viola, it is important to master this piece. First, because it's an excellent exercice developing both musical and technical aspects of your instrument. It's great for the fingers as you've to adapt your sound for each musical phrases. Then, this concerto and more specifically this movement are still often played and practiced by today's musicians.
