Messiah – Hallelujah
Georg Friedrich Händel
Everybody knows the famous “Hallelujah”! Composed over twenty-four days, The Messiah is an oratorio. A sacred work composed for orchestra, soloists and choir that tells a story. But be careful, it has nothing to do with an opera. This work is so blessed that during the first performance, King George II of England rose to his feet as the choir sang the “Hallelujah.” The tradition still exists to this day.
